Generation equipment contracts in April 2020 saw 79 contracts announced, marking a rise of 1% over the last 12-month average of 78, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 71 contracts and an 89.9% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four contracts and a 5.1% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: two contracts and a 2.5% share
  4. Project Implementation: two contracts and a 2.5% share.

Asia-Pacific leads generation equipment activity in April 2020

Comparing contracts activity in generation equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 31 contracts and a share of 39.2% during April 2020, followed by Europe with 31 contracts and a 39.2% share and North America with nine contracts and an 11.4% share.

Wind is leading technology for generation equipment contracts in April 2020

Among the technologies, wind accounted for 39 contracts with a 49.4% share, followed by solar with 15 contracts and a 19% share and thermal with 15 contracts and a 19% share.
