Generation equipment contracts in April 2021 saw 42 contracts announced, marking a drop of 61% over the last 12-month average of 108, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 40 contracts and a 95.2% share
  2. Project Implementation: one contract and a 2.4% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: one contract and a 2.4% share.

Asia-Pacific leads generation equipment activity in April 2021

Comparing contracts activity in generation equipment segment in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 16 contracts and a share of 38.1% during April 2021, followed by Europe with 16 contracts and a 38.1% share and Middle East and Africa with four contracts and a 9.5% share.

Solar is leading technology for generation equipment contracts in April 2021

Among the technologies, solar accounted for 15 contracts with a 36.6% share, followed by wind with 14 contracts and a 34.1% share and thermal with six contracts and a 14.6% share.
