Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, wind held the second position in terms of number of contracts during April 2022 with a 23.2% share.
The proportion of contracts by category in the Wind technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 20 contracts and a 35.7% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: 12 contracts and a 21.4% share
- Project Implementation: 12 contracts and a 21.4% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: nine contracts and a 16.1% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three contracts and a 5.4% share.
Europe leads wind contracts activity in April 2022
Comparing contracts activity in wind technology in different regions of the globe, Europe held the top position with 23 contracts and a share of 41.1% during April 2022, followed by Asia-Pacific with 20 contracts and a 35.7% share and North America with nine contracts and a 16.1% share.
In fourth place was South and Central America with four contracts and a 7.1% share.

The top issuers of contracts in Wind technology for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:
- Government Of Karnataka (India): 1,700MW from one contract
- Meta Platforms (United States) and TransAlta (Canada): 200MW from one contract
- T-Mobile US (United States): 98MW capacity from one contract.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved were:
- Azure Power (India): 1,700MW from one contract
- North China Power Engineering (China): 950MW from one contract
- PowerChina Central China Electric Power Engineering (China), TransAlta (Canada) and Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives (United States): 200MW capacity from one contract.
