Looking at global power contracts activity divided by the type of technology, biopower held the sixth position in terms of number of contracts during Q3 2021 with a 2.3% share.

The proportion of contracts by category in the Biopower technology tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: eight contracts and a 40% share
  2. Supply & Erection: eight contracts and a 40% share
  3. Electricity Supply: two contracts and a 10% share
  4. Power Purchase Agreement: two contracts and a 10% share.

Comparing contracts activity in biopower technology in different regions of the globe, Asia-Pacific held the top position with 12 contracts and a share of 60% during Q3 2021, followed by Europe with four contracts and a 20% share and South and Central America with three contracts and a 15% share.

In fourth place was Middle East and Africa with one contract and a 5% share.
