Power industry tenders in March 2022: Middle East and Africa leads global activity

 

On comparing tenders activity in different regions of the globe, Middle East and Africa held the top position with 41 tenders and a share of 36.6% during March 2022, followed by Asia-Pacific with 33 tenders and a 29.5% share and Europe with 19 tenders and a 17% share.

On the basis of the last 12-month average, North America held a lead over others with 208 tenders, followed by Middle East and Africa with 160.

Solar tops by technology in March 2022

 

Looking at tenders by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with seven tenders and a 58.3% share, followed by hydro with two tenders and a 16.7% share and nuclear with one tender and an 8.3% share.

Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment during March 2022, with 65 tenders, followed by T&D Project (24) and Smart Grid (11).

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 78 tenders and a 69.6% share
  2. Project Implementation: 18 tenders and a 16.1% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: 11 tenders and a 9.8% share
  4. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five tenders and a 4.5% share.

 

Power tenders in March 2022: Top companies by capacity

 

The top issuer of tenders for the month in terms of power capacity involved was: Germany Trade And Invest (Germany) with 26.9MW from four tenders.
