Oil was the top category in thermal technology in terms of number of tenders for the month, accounting for 129 tenders and an 86% share, followed by Gas with 17 tenders and an 11.3% share. Coal stood in third place with four tenders and a 2.7% share.

Looking at global power tenders activity divided by the type of technology, thermal held the top position in terms of number of tenders during July 2021 with a 52.9% share.

The proportion of tenders by category in the Thermal technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 53 tenders and a 34.2% share

North America leads thermal tenders activity in July 2021

Comparing tenders activity in thermal technology in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position with 72 tenders and a share of 46.5% during July 2021, followed by Asia-Pacific with 50 tenders and a 32.3% share and Middle East and Africa with 18 tenders and an 11.6% share.

In fourth place was Europe with 15 tenders and a 9.7% share.
