Oil was the top category in thermal technology in terms of number of tenders for the month, accounting for 134 tenders and a 93.1% share, followed by Gas with ten tenders and a 6.9% share.
Looking at global power tenders activity divided by the type of technology, thermal held the top position in terms of number of tenders during October 2021 with a 49% share.
The proportion of tenders by category in the Thermal technology tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 88 tenders and a 61.5% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 52 tenders and a 36.4% share
- Electricity Supply: two tenders and a 1.4% share

North America leads thermal tenders activity in October 2021
Comparing tenders activity in thermal technology in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position with 88 tenders and a share of 61.5% during October 2021, followed by Asia-Pacific with 24 tenders and a 16.8% share and Middle East and Africa with 22 tenders and a 15.4% share.
In fourth place was Europe with six tenders and a 4.2% share and in fifth place was South and Central America with three tenders and a 2.1% share.
