Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 60 units of G80-2.0 MW turbines, each with 2MW nameplate capacity.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is the O&M contractor for the wind power project. The operation and maintenance contract commenced from 2018, for a period of 3 years.

The company coordinates with national and international institutions to plan and implement the renewable energy programs. It is responsible for renewable energy resource assessment; research, development, demonstration, testing and evaluation of the different re technologies including solar, wind and biomass; and implementation of renewable energy projects. It also does Research, development, demonstration, testing and evaluation of the different RE technologies focusing on solar, wind and biomass. The company’s information center develops the integrated information systems and also develops the data base to support NREA activities. NREA is headquartered in Cairo, Egypt.
