The project was developed by Hitachi Zosen and is currently owned by China Power International New Energy Holding with a stake of 100%.

The process of combustion has been adopted in this project to release the stored energy from the feed.

Haikou Waste to Energy Plant (Haikou Waste to Energy Plant Phase I) consists of 2 turbines with 12MW nameplate capacity.
