The project was developed by Huaneng Xinjiang Energy Development and is currently owned by China Huaneng Group with a stake of 100%.
Huaneng Biedieli is a run-of-river project. The gross head of the project is 100.8m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 70 in number. The penstock length is 168m. The project generated 877 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $335.4m.
The hydro power project consists of 8 turbines, each with 31MW nameplate capacity.
The project has 8 electric generators installed at the site. The generator capacity is 31 MVA.
