Hubei Dongping is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 308 million cubic meter. The net head of the project is 90m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 2 in number. The project generated 322 GWh of electricity.
The project commenced construction in 2003.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Central China Grid under a power purchase agreement with a contracted capacity is 317.36GWh.
Dongfang Electric was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 turbines, each with 55MW nameplate capacity.
Dongfang Electric supplied 2 electric generators for the project.
