The project was developed by Zhejiang Huadian Wuxijiang Hrdropower Plant and is currently owned by China Huadian with a stake of 100%.
Hunanzhen is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 2,060 million cubic meter. The penstock length is 300m. The penstock diameter is 7.2m. Hunanzhen underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 1996. The project generated 540 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $32.64m.
The project has 4 electric generators installed at the site. The generator capacity is 42.5 MVA.
