The project was developed by Evergy Metro. Evergy Metro, Great Plains Energy, Korea Electric Power, Liberty Utilities (Canada) and Missouri Joint Municipal Electric Utility Commission are currently owning the project.

It is a steam turbine power plant. The fuel is procured from Powder River Basin.

The project generated 8,285,305MWh of electricity.

Burns & McDonnell was selected to render EPC services for the Iatan Generating Station (Iatan Generating Station Unit II).

Iatan Generating Station (Iatan Generating Station Unit I) is equipped with GE Power steam turbine. The phase consists of 1 steam turbine with 726MW nameplate capacity.

Iatan Generating Station (Iatan Generating Station Unit II) is equipped with Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions steam turbine. The phase consists of 1 steam turbine with 914MW nameplate capacity.

Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions supplied electric generator for the Iatan Generating Station (Iatan Generating Station Unit II).

Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises supplied steam boiler for the Iatan Generating Station (Iatan Generating Station Unit I).

GE Power supplied steam boiler for the Iatan Generating Station (Iatan Generating Station Unit II).
