The project was developed by Ad-Dhahirah Generating Company SAOC. Mitsui, International Company for Water and Power Projects and Dhofar International Development & Investment Holding Co.S.A.O.G are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 50.1%, 44.9% and 5% respectively.

It is a combined cycle gas turbine (ccgt) power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Fuel Oil.

The project cost is $967m.

Power Purchase Agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Oman Power and Water Procurement under a power purchase agreement for a period of 15 years.

Power Construction Corporation of China and SEPCOIII Electric Power Construction were selected to render EPC services for the gas fired power project.

Ansaldo Energia was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The Gas fired project consists of 4 gas turbines.

Ansaldo Energia was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The Gas fired project consists of 2 steam turbines.

Ansaldo Energia supplied electric generator for the project.

Ansaldo Energia supplied steam boiler for the project.

The First National Operation & Maintenance is the O&M contractor for thermal power project.
