Infiernillo is a 1,200MW hydro power project. It is located on Balsas river/basin in Guerrero, Mexico. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 1960 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 1964.

The hydro reservoir capacity is 9,340 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 110m. Infiernillo underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2006-2010. The project generated 2,936 GWh of electricity.

The turbines for the hydro power project have been supplied by Andritz Hydro and GE Renewable Energy.
The electric generators for the project were procured from GE Renewable Energy and Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions.
