Iringa – Kigoma Line is a 400kV overhead line with a length of 1384km from Iringa, Iringa, Tanzania, to Kigoma, Kigoma, Tanzania.

The project, which is currently in the planning stage, is expected to be commissioned in 2022.

Description

Iringa – Kigoma Line is an overhead line that will be operated by Tanzania Electric Supply. The line will carry alternating current (AC) through double circuit cable.

Approximately $821.4m was financed by the authorities to undertake the construction works of the project.

Tanzania Electric Supply Co Ltd (TANESCO), formerly Tanganyika Electric Supply Co Ltd, is a government owned integrated power company.
