Description

The project was developed by Acwa Power, Air Products and Chemicals, Air Products Qudra and Saudi Arabian Oil. Air Products and Chemicals, Acwa Power, Saudi Aramco Power and Air Products Qudra are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 46%, 25%, 20% and 9% respectively.

It is a Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) power plant.

Development status

The project got commissioned in February 2020.

Power purchase agreement

The power generated from the project is sold to Saudi Arabian Oil under a power purchase agreement for a period of 25 years.

Saipem, SEPCO Electric Power Construction and Tecnicas Reunidas were selected to render engineering procurement construction services for the oil fired power project.
