The project was developed by Air Products and Chemicals, Air Products Qudra, International Company for Water and Power Projects and Saudi Arabian Oil. Air Products and Chemicals, International Company for Water and Power Projects, Saudi Aramco Power and Air Products Qudra are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 46%, 25%, 20% and 9% respectively.
It is a integrated gasification combined cycle (igcc) power plant.
The project cost is $3,831.54m.
The project got commissioned in February 2020.
Saipem, SEPCO Electric Power Construction and Tecnicas Reunidas were selected to render EPC services for the oil fired power project.
Siemens was selected as the turbine supplier for the Oil fired project. The Oil fired project consists of 5 steam turbines.
Siemens was selected as the turbine supplier for the Oil fired project. The company provided 10 units of SGT6-5000F gas turbines.
