It is a steam turbine with cogen power plant that is used for Baseload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is bituminous. In case of shortage of bituminous the plant can also run on Oil.

Central Southern China Electric Power Design Institute Co Ltd Of China Power Engineering Consulting Group, China Gezhouba Group and Hubei Second Electric Power Construction Engineering were selected to render EPC services for the coal fired power project.
DEC Dongfang Steam Turbine was selected as the turbine supplier for thermal power project. The project consists of 2 units of N600-24.2 / 566/566 turbines, each with 600MW nameplate capacity.
DEC Dongfang Electric Machinery supplied QFSN-600-2-22C electric generator for the Jingmen Thermal Power Plant III (Jingmen Thermal Power Plant III Unit I).
