It is a Steam Turbine power plant that is used for Peakload. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is heavy fuel oil. In case of shortage of heavy fuel oil the plant can also run on Crude Oil.
The project got commissioned in April 1972.
