Description

The project was developed by General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works and is currently owned by Elektrik Uretim.

Karkamis is a run-of-river project. The gross head of the project is 10.55m. The project generated 359.68 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $175m.

Contractors Involved

Voith Hydro Holding was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 6 units of kaplan turbines, each with 31.5MW nameplate capacity.

Andritz Hydro supplied electric generator(s) for the project. The generator capacity is 35 MVA.
