The KCE TX 12 Battery Energy Storage System is being developed by Key Capture Energy. The project is owned by Key Capture Energy (100%).

The key application of the project is ancillary services.

Contractors involved

Key Capture Energy is the owner. Key Capture Energy is the developer. Powin Energy is the technology provider for the project.

Powin Energy is the system integrator. Mitsubishi Power Americas is the EPC contractor for the project.

Additional information

Key Capture Energy (KCE) will build three large-scale energy storage systems (KCE TX 11, KCE TX 12 and KCE TX 23) to participate in Electricity Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) energy markets. Powin Energy will be providing Key Capture’s projects with fully-integrated battery and battery management systems, as well as servicing them. MHPS meanwhile will be the projects’ engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) partner as well as servicing the systems’ DC equipment, power conversion systems (PCS) and high-voltage substations.
