The project was developed by AMDA energia, Lekela Power and Mainstream Renewable Power. Lekela Power, Revego Africa Energy, Thebe Investment and Futuregrowth Asset Management are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 40%, 15%, 10% and 5% respectively.
The project generates 563,500MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 170,000 households, offsetting 550,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $251.242m.

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy was selected as the turbine supplier for the wind power project. The company provided 61 units of SWT-2.3-108 turbines, each with 2.3MW nameplate capacity.
