Kidatu is a 204MW hydro power project. It is located on Great Ruaha river/basin in Morogoro, Tanzania. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in 1975.

Description

The project is currently owned by Tanzania Electric Supply.

The hydro reservoir capacity is 3,200 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project is 175m. The project generated 1,200 GWh of electricity.

The turbines for the hydro power project have been supplied by Litostroj Power and Voith Hydro Holding.

Koncar Generators and Motors supplied 2 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 60 MVA.
