Kota Super Thermal Power Station is a 1,240MW coal fired power project. It is located in Rajasthan, India. The project is currently active. It has been developed in multiple phases. Post completion of construction, the project got commissioned in January 1983.

Description

The project was developed by Bharat Heavy Electricals and is currently owned by Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam with a stake of 100%.

It is a steam turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is bituminous. In case of shortage of bituminous the plant can also run on Furnace Oil / High Speed Diesel. The fuel is procured from SECL (Korea-Rewa & Korba) & NCL (Singrauli).
