Description

The project is currently owned by Upper Egypt Electricity Production.

It is a steam turbine power plant. The power plant run on dual-fuel. The primary fuel being used to power the plant is natural gas. In case of shortage of natural gas the plant can also run on Heavy Fuel Oil.

The project generated 8,784,000MWh of electricity.

GE Power was selected as the turbine supplier for the Gas fired project. The company provided 2 steam turbines, each with 627MW nameplate capacity.
