La Guaca is a run-of-river project. The gross head of the project is 1,015m. The project generated 1,250 GWh of electricity.
The project got commissioned in 1985.
Kvaerner Brug was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 3 units of pelton turbines, each with 108MW nameplate capacity.
