The project was developed by Societe d’energie de la Baie James and is currently owned by Hydro-Quebec.
Laforge-2 is a run-of-river project. The hydro reservoir capacity is 1,840 million cubic meter. The net head of the project is 27.4m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 2 in number.
