Lawngdin, Myanmar

Lawngdin is a 600MW hydro power project. It is planned on Nawchankha river/basin in Kachin, Myanmar. The project is currently in announced stage. It will be developed in single phase. The project construction is likely to commence in 2022 and is expected to enter into commercial operation in 2026.

Description

The project is being developed by IGE Group of Companies and YPIC International Energy Cooperation & Development. These companies also have ownership stakes in the project.

Lawngdin is a run-of-river project. The project is expected to generate 2,401 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $1,108.56m.

The hydro power project consists of 2 turbines.
