The project is currently owned by Enel Generacion Peru SAA with a stake of 100%.
Matucana is a run-of-river project. The gross head and net head of the project are 987m and 966m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 1 in number. The penstock length is 1,700m. Matucana underwent through rehabilitation & modernization during 2014. The project generated 862.85 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $50.5m.
