Description
The project was developed by Hidropaute and Webuild. The project is currently owned by Corporacion Electrica del Ecuador.
The gross head of the project is 153m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, are 1 in number. The penstock length is 56m. The project cost is $600m.

Contractors Involved
Alstom was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 2 units of francis turbines, each with 97MW nameplate capacity.
