The project was developed by Endesa Cogeneracion Y Renovables (Ecyr) and is currently owned by Endesa Generacion with a stake of 100%.
Mequinenza is a reservoir based project. The gross head of the project is 47m.

Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to ENDESA Distribucion Electrica under a power purchase agreement.
Contractors Involved
Voith Hydro Holding was selected as the turbine supplier for the hydro power project. The company provided 4 units of francis vertical axis turbines, each with 81MW nameplate capacity.
Voith Siemens supplied 4 electric generators for the project. The generator capacity is 90 MVA.
