The project was developed by Sempra U.S. Gas & Power and is currently owned by Consolidated Edison Development with a stake of 100%.
Mesquite Solar 2 PV Park is a ground-mounted solar project which is spread over an area of 626 acres.
The project generates 291,325MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 45,000 households, offsetting 207,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $191.6m.
The project got commissioned in December 2016.
Power Purchase Agreement
The power generated from the project is sold to Southern California Edison under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years, starting from 2016.
Amec Foster Wheeler was selected to render EPC services for the solar PV power project.
Trina Solar was selected as the supplier of the PV modules for the project. The company installed 436,760 modules at the site.
The inverters were procured from Toshiba Mitsubishi-Electric Industrial Systems for the project.
The project is utilising trackers supplied by Array Technologies.
