Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in January 2021 with 36 tenders and a 29.5% share, followed by T&D Equipment with 32 tenders and a 26.2% share and Generation Equipment with 24 tenders and a 19.7% share during the month.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 17 tenders and a 70.8% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: six tenders and a 25% share
  3. Consulting & Similar Services: one tender and a 4.2% share.

Thermal is top technology for Middle East and Africa generation equipment tenders in January 2021

Looking at generation equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, thermal accounted for 18 tenders with a 69.2% share, followed by solar with seven tenders and a 26.9% share and geothermal with one tender and a 3.8% share.
