Middle East and Africa power industry contracts in November 2020: Egypt leads activity
Looking at contracts by country, Egypt led the activity in November 2020 with three contracts and a share of 14.3%, up 10.6% over the previous month and up 200% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Saudi Arabia with three contracts and a share of 14.3% and Chad with two contracts and a share of 9.5% during the month.
Looking at the last 12-month average, Saudi Arabia held the top spot with four contracts, followed by Iran with three and Oman with two contracts.

Solar is top technology area for contracts in November 2020
Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 11 contracts and a 73.3% share, followed by wind with two contracts and a 13.3% share and hydro with one contract and a 6.7% share.
Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in Middle East and Africa as tracked by GlobalData, Power Plant was the most popular segment in November 2020, with eight contracts, followed by T&D Project (7) and Electricity Procurement (5).
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Project Implementation: ten contracts and a 47.6% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: five contracts and a 23.8% share
