Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2019 with 38 contracts and a 39.6% share, followed by T&D Project with 24 contracts and a 25% share and Generation Equipment with 13 contracts and a 13.5% share during the quarter.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 22 contracts and a 57.9% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: six contracts and a 15.8% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: five contracts and a 13.2% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: five contracts and a 13.2% share.
Solar is top technology for Middle East and Africa power plant contracts in Q4 2019
Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, solar accounted for 22 contracts with a 52.4% share, followed by thermal with seven contracts and a 16.7% share and wind with six contracts and a 14.3% share.
