Power Plant stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q4 2020 with 29 contracts and a 29.9% share, followed by T&D Project with 27 contracts and a 27.8% share and Generation Equipment with 11 contracts and an 11.3% share during the quarter.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 20 contracts and a 69% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four contracts and a 13.8% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: three contracts and a 10.3% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: two contracts and a 6.9% share.
Solar is top technology for Middle East and Africa power plant contracts in Q4 2020
Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, solar accounted for 17 contracts with a 54.8% share, followed by thermal with 11 contracts and a 35.5% share and hydro with two contracts and a 6.5% share.
