There were 323 T&D equipment tenders announced in the Middle East and Africa region in Q3 2021, marking a rise of 77% over the last four-quarter average of 183, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.

T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q3 2021 with 323 tenders and a 54.1% share, followed by Power Plant with 91 tenders and a 15.2% share and Generation Equipment with 84 tenders and a 14.1% share during the quarter.

The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 306 tenders and a 94.7% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 14 tenders and a 4.3% share
  3. Project Implementation: three tenders and a 0.9% share.

Solar is top technology for Middle East and Africa T&D equipment tenders in Q3 2021

Looking at T&D equipment tenders by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, solar accounted for four tenders with a 33.3% share, followed by thermal with four tenders and a 33.3% share and hydro with three tenders and a 25% share.
