Middle East and Africa T&D project contracts activity down 11% in Q3 2021

There were 31 T&D project contracts announced in the Middle East and Africa region in Q3 2021, marking a drop of 11% over the last four-quarter average of 35, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

T&D Project stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Middle East and Africa region in Q3 2021 with 31 contracts and a 27.9% share, followed by Power Plant with 28 contracts and a 25.2% share and Generation Equipment with 16 contracts and a 14.4% share during the quarter.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:

  1. Project Implementation: 20 contracts and a 64.5% share
  2. Consulting & Similar Services: seven contracts and a 22.6% share
  3. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four contracts and a 12.9% share.

Hydro is top technology for Middle East and Africa T&D project contracts in Q3 2021

Looking at T&D project contracts by the type of technology in the Middle East and Africa region, hydro accounted for one contract with a 25% share, followed by solar with one contract and a 25% share and thermal with one contract and a 25% share.
