Nam Tha 1 is a 168MW hydro power project. It is located on Nam Tha river/basin in Bokeo, Laos. The project is currently active. It has been developed in single phase. The project construction commenced in 2014 and subsequently entered into commercial operation in 2018.

Description

The project was developed by China Southern Power Grid. China Southern Power Grid and Electricite du Laos are currently owning the project having ownership stake of 75% and 25% respectively.

The project generated 721 GWh of electricity. The project cost is $450m.

The hydro power project consists of 3 turbines, each with 56MW nameplate capacity.
