Naran is an 188MW hydro power project. It is planned on Kunhar river/basin in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The project is currently in permitting stage. It will be developed in single phase. Post completion of the construction, the project is expected to get commissioned in 2022.

The project is being developed and currently owned by Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization.

The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 14.636 million cubic meter. The gross head of the project will be 336m. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 4 in number. The penstock length will be 100m. The penstock diameter will be 2.2m. The project is expected to generate 705.46 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $440m.

The hydro power project consists of 4 units of francis turbines.

The project has 4 electric generators that will be installed at the project site.
