Electricity Procurement stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in September 2021 with 20 contracts and a 29.9% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 18 contracts and a 26.9% share and Power Plant with 13 contracts and a 19.4% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Power Purchase Agreement: 19 contracts and a 95% share
  2. Project Implementation: one contract and a 5% share.

Solar is top technology for North America electricity procurement contracts in September 2021

Looking at electricity procurement contracts by the type of technology in the North America region, solar accounted for 11 contracts with a 55% share, followed by wind with eight contracts and a 40% share and geothermal with one contract and a 5% share.
