Electricity Procurement stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in April 2021 with 23 contracts and a 59% share, followed by Power Plant with eight contracts and a 20.5% share and Energy Storage with four contracts and a 10.3% share during the month.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:
- Power Purchase Agreement: 19 contracts and an 82.6% share
- Electricity Supply: four contracts and a 17.4% share.
Solar is top technology for North America electricity procurement contracts in April 2021
Looking at electricity procurement contracts by the type of technology in the North America region, solar accounted for 18 contracts with a 75% share, followed by wind with four contracts and a 16.7% share and thermal with two contracts and an 8.3% share.
