Electricity Procurement stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in March 2021 with 21 contracts and a 37.5% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 13 contracts and a 23.2% share and Power Plant with ten contracts and a 17.9% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Power Purchase Agreement: 18 contracts and an 85.7% share
  2. Electricity Supply: three contracts and a 14.3% share.

Solar is top technology for North America electricity procurement contracts in March 2021

Looking at electricity procurement contracts by the type of technology in the North America region, solar accounted for 11 contracts with a 52.4% share, followed by wind with ten contracts and a 47.6% share.

  3. Target (United States): 160MW capacity from one contract.
