Generation Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in September 2020 with 28 contracts and a 31.1% share, followed by Electricity Procurement with 27 contracts and a 30% share and Power Plant with 13 contracts and a 14.4% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Power Purchase Agreement: 23 contracts and an 85.2% share
  2. Electricity Supply: four contracts and a 14.8% share.

Solar is top technology for North America electricity procurement contracts in September 2020

Looking at electricity procurement contracts by the type of technology in the North America region, solar accounted for 20 contracts with a 62.5% share, followed by wind with seven contracts and a 21.9% share and hydro with two contracts and a 6.3% share.
