Generation Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in December 2020 with 26 contracts and a 37.1% share, followed by Electricity Procurement with 21 contracts and a 30% share and Energy Storage with eight contracts and an 11.4% share during the month.

The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Supply & Erection: 23 contracts and an 88.5% share
  2. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: three contracts and an 11.5% share.

Wind is top technology for North America generation equipment contracts in December 2020

Looking at generation equipment contracts by the type of technology in the North America region, wind accounted for 13 contracts with a 50% share, followed by thermal with six contracts and a 23.1% share and solar with five contracts and a 19.2% share.
