Electricity Procurement stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in Q4 2020 with 74 contracts and a 36.3% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 54 contracts and a 26.5% share and Power Plant with 39 contracts and a 19.1% share during the quarter.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Supply & Erection: 38 contracts and a 70.4% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 14 contracts and a 25.9% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: one contract and a 1.9% share
- Project Implementation: one contract and a 1.9% share.
Wind is top technology for North America generation equipment contracts in Q4 2020
Looking at generation equipment contracts by the type of technology in the North America region, wind accounted for 23 contracts with a 42.6% share, followed by thermal with 13 contracts and a 24.1% share and solar with 12 contracts and a 22.2% share.
