North America power industry contracts in October 2019: The US leads activity

Looking at contracts by country, the US led the activity in October 2019 with 25 contracts and a share of 75.8%, down 11.5% over the previous month and down 46% when compared with the last 12 month-average, followed by Canada with six contracts and a share of 18.2% and Mexico with two contracts and a share of 6.1% during the month.

Looking at the last 12-month average, the US held the top spot with 46 contracts, followed by Canada with three and Mexico with two contracts.

Solar is top technology area for contracts in October 2019

Looking at contracts divided by the type of technology, solar accounted for the largest proportion with 14 contracts and a 42.4% share, followed by wind with nine contracts and a 27.3% share and thermal with six contracts and an 18.2% share.

Looking at power industry contracts divided by segment in North America as tracked by GlobalData, Electricity Procurement was the most popular segment in October 2019, with 18 contracts, followed by Power Plant (9) and Generation Equipment (6).
