Electricity Procurement stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the North America region in Q3 2019 with 52 contracts and a 34% share, followed by Generation Equipment with 44 contracts and a 28.8% share and Power Plant with 33 contracts and a 21.6% share during the quarter.
The proportion of contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
- Project Implementation: 24 contracts and a 72.7% share
- Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: four contracts and a 12.1% share
- Consulting & Similar Services: four contracts and a 12.1% share
- Power Purchase Agreement: one contract and a 3% share.
Solar is top technology for North America power plant contracts in Q3 2019
Looking at power plant contracts by the type of technology in the North America region, solar accounted for 12 contracts with a 36.4% share, followed by wind with 11 contracts and a 33.3% share and thermal with seven contracts and a 21.2% share.
