North America Solar technology contracts activity drops 37% in March 2022

North America solar technology contracts in March 2022 saw 22 contracts announced, marking a drop of 37% over the last 12-month average of 35, according to GlobalData’s power industry contracts database.

The proportion of solar technology contracts by category tracked by GlobalData in the month was as follows:

  1. Power Purchase Agreement with 14 contracts and a 63.6% share
  2. Project Implementation: three contracts and a 13.6% share
  3. Supply & Erection: three contracts and a 13.6% share
  4. Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: two contracts and a 9.1% share.

 

The US tops North America solar power contracts activity

 

The US was the top country in the North America region for solar technology contracts recorded in March 2022 with 22 contracts and a 100% share.

North America solar technology contracts in March 2022: Top companies by capacity

 

The top issuers of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in North America were:

  1. EPA Green Power Partner and QTS Realty Trust (United States): 350MW from one contract
  2. Sacramento Municipal Utility District (United States): 200MW from one contract
  3. DE Shaw Renewable Investments (United States) and Ranger Power (United States): 189MW capacity from two contracts.

The top winners of contracts for the month in terms of power capacity involved in North America were:

  1. Georgia Power (United States): 350MW from one contract
  2. DE Shaw Renewable Investments (United States): 200MW from one contract
  3. McCarthy Building Companies (United States): 189MW capacity from two contracts.
