Nugur Phase I is a reservoir based project. The hydro reservoir capacity is planned to be 1,696.8 million cubic meter. The gross head and net head of the project will be 33.7m and 24.54m respectively. The total number of penstocks, pipes or long channels that carry water down from the hydroelectric reservoir to the turbines inside the actual power station, is expected to be 5 in number. The penstock length will be 76m. The penstock diameter will be 5.5m. The project is expected to generate 313.97 GWh of electricity. The project cost is expected to be around $242.019m.

The hydro power project consists of 5 turbines, each with 34MW nameplate capacity.

The project has 5 electric generators that will be installed at the project site.
